Music&Me

Hello!! My name is Abi Skee. I am currently a sophomore goalie for the women’s lacrosse team at Converse. I have been involved in sports my whole life, with starting soccer in pre-school up until my sophomore year of high school where I switched to lacrosse.
I am from Charleston SC and have lived there my entire life. I live with my dad and my younger sister.
I am interested in a lot of hands on jobs such as woodworking and welding! My future aspiration is to become a Civil Engineer.

1. A song that is on repeat for me is Femininomenon by Chappell Roan. I am a Chappell Roan super fan. I have her CDs, posters, and shirts of her. I have been a fan of Chappell Roan for about 2 years. This song has been on my current playlist as it just puts me in a good mood and gets me hype. I have been recently listening to it before my 6:30am practice to get dialed in. This song is becoming my “anthem” for the upcoming season!! Chappell Roan is kinda the only today pop singer I actually listen to on a daily basis!

2. A song that is meaningful to me is Ants Marching by Dave Matthews Band. This song is meaningful as it was a big part of my childhood. When I was younger my dad used to take me to work on his job sites with him. After a couple hours out it would be finally be time to go. When we got in the truck he would pop this song into the CD player and roll down all the windows. When I grew up I he gave me his Dave Matthews Band shirt from 2010. And now today I was able to get my own shirt. I After working similar jobs over the last few summers I’ve been repeating the same routine me and my dad used to do. We actually got to see Dave Matthews Band in concert this summer, which was very surreal and such a throwback for my dad and I.

3.  A song I don’t connect with is I Love You I’m Sorry by Gracie Abrams. I don’t connect with this song because I am personally not a big fan of her. I don’t like the generic pop she writes or the way she sings. I think I also don’t connect with her is because I’m not very big on today’s pop artists other than Chappell Roan. I like a lot of older pop such as Billie Piper or Brittany Spears. I have always been more of a fan of rock and subgenres of rock such as dad rock, pop rock , and indie rock.

  2. Hey Abi! You also like Dave Matthews Band?! My mom absolutely loves their songs, and we went to their concert in Georgia not too long ago! I will also say that "Marching Ants" is a really good song, and I always loved their music for that song, too! It always puts me in a good mood whenever I listen to that one. My favorite song from Dave Matthews Band has to be "Grace Is Gone".
